Here in Canada, where money is very difficult to counterfit because of sophisticated water marks and holograms, first Toronto and the Montreal were hit with fake 100 notes of the most current version of the hundred dollar bill.
In a successful yet unsophisticated attempt to create fake money crooks cut out the holograms from fives to use on fake fifties but got caught when they tried to cash in the mutilated fives at the bank.
