Ghb or gamma-hydroxbutyric acudm 4-hydroxybutanoic acid is produced naturally in our bodies and in food and alcholic beverages. GHB is found as a salt, a commonly as a salty tasting liquid.
Theraputically ghb is used to help people with insomnia, narcolepsy, and alcholism. It is more widely knownas a date rate drug. A small amount of 10 ml can be put in a drink with out the person tasting it. They can then end up dizzy, feeling sick, and pass out. For the date rate potential alone of ghb I think it should be banned, or very carefully regualted. This drug is all over the street, and widely abused. Kids over do it, pass out, and some who think it can be drank like alcohol end up dying.
In the body building world GHB is used to elevate the human growth hormone. It also give a brief period of energy, and takes away the burn. Any signs of ghb quickly leave the body making ghb testing difficult. The benefits of ghb to body builders is so low as to be non-existent.
