My Marijuana Garden

How To Grow Weed

Marijuana being a weed tends to grow like one, but that does not mean you can chuck some seeds out of your baggie into your backyard and end up with some keen smoke. Nope, you gotta tend to your babies. So here are some tips.

Marijuana likes light, airy soil, that drains well. A bag of sunshine mix will do you fine. Don’t overwater, but don’t it dry out either. If you burn your babies root hairs they will be unable to drink, and then they will look wilted, fried, and then die a slow death.

Mary Jane grows in two phases. Stage one is the vegitative state. Unlike the veg state that happens when your smoking, this is when rapid, leafy growth occurs. The bigger your plants get during this stage, the bigger your buds will be later on. The light cycle of vegatative growth is 16-18 hours of light, in a 24 hr. cycle.

Stage two is my fav phase. This is when your girls start to bud. To initiate this stage indoors your light cycle will be 12 hours on, and 12 hours of darkness. Within eight weeks you will be ready to harvest your thc ladden plants.

Harvest Time is a day of celebration. Your plants will be heavy with bud, and sticky with crystals. By this time they will also be very stinky. Do not rush the harvesting process. For a couple of weeks prior to cutting your plants down flush them with water so you get rid of the nitrogen. If you do not flush your plants you will end up with a harsh smoke that leaves a black ash.

Trim your plants, and hang them upside down so they can slowly dry over the course of 10 days. You can trim as you go and put the buds on screens to dry. When they are crispy on the outside put the buds in a bag to sweat out the mosture that is in the center of the bud, and then re-dry - This is called sweating or curing the bud. You don’t have to sweat it, I find that the best smoke is that which dry slowly and naturally. Heat is the enemy of thc, do not rapidly dry your buds in the oven or microwave - that would be bad news.

Get high! Ahhhh enjoying the fruits of your labours. You should be proud to have grown such a fine herb.
